Washington Wizards @ Houston Rockets
The Wizards (11-54) and Rockets (30-35) lock horns at the Toyota Center in H-Town. This is actually their first meeting of the season, with the teams slated to face each other in the nation’s capital again on March 19.
Lately, Washington has been all about the Under. The Wizards have averaged just 106.3 PPG while yielding 105.7 PPG in the past three games. The Under has cashed in all three games, including a stunning road win in Miami as an 11.5-point underdog.
Houston has also been on that Under tip, going low in the past two outings in San Antonio and Sacramento, both wins. They’ve hit the Under at a 7-2-1 clip across the past 10 games overall. The Under is 3-1-1 in the past five home games for the Rockets at Toyota Center, too. The Under is a good play in this battle of sub-.500 teams who are both playing surprisingly well of late.
Bet: Under 226.5 (-112)

Florida Panthers @ Carolina Hurricanes
The last time we saw Florida and Carolina play, it came down to the wire, ending in epic fashion with Sebastian Aho netting the game’s only goal in the waning seconds of regulation. The Panthers scored a goal shortly beforehand, but it was called offsides, flipping momentum in favor of the Hurricanes. Both of these teams have rock-solid goaltending, so while the netminders haven’t been confirmed yet, we should feel comfortable wagering the under in the total goals market.
Each of Carolina’s last 11 games against Eastern Conference teams has gone under the total goals line, which is a trend that aligns with this bet. The €˜Canes just lost 1-0 at home to the Rangers, while Florida is due for an under game, entering this contest with six or more total goals in four of their past five outings. We’re getting nearly even odds to take the under, which has been profitable for both of these contenders in 2024. So, let’s stake a unit on another tightly contested, gritty, low-scoring matchup in Raleigh, N.C., on Thursday night.
Bet: Under 5.5 Total Goals (-102)

Florida State vs. North Carolina (ACC Conference Tournament)
UNC and Florida State’s two regular-season meetings stayed under the projected total by an average of 10 points per contest, and the second meeting saw the two teams combine for just 143 points. However, we expect regression to the mean in this third meeting, given that both teams have no problem pushing the pace with tempos that rank in the top 42 nationally.
UNC might rank 336th in bench minutes this season, but the Tar Heels have to feel good about the bench’s production against Duke, as Seth Trimble and Jae’Lyn Withers combined for 12 points and 12 rebounds. Still, there is no doubt that Seminoles head coach Leonard Hamilton will try and exploit the Tar Heels’ seven-man rotation and get their most productive players in foul trouble, as Florida State attempts free throws at the fourth-highest rate in ACC play this season. The Seminoles attempted 19 total free throws in the two losses against the Tar Heels this year, but we expect them to push the envelope more and be aggressive offensively with nothing to lose. It would behoove Florida State to get UNC center Armando Bacot off the floor, as the Tar Heels have allowed an average of 77.3 points in the last four games he has committed four-plus fouls.
Florida State still managed 1.21 points per possession against Virginia Tech in a game where it shot just 3-for-13 (23.1%) from 3-point range. A big key in the high-scoring affair was attempting 30 free throws, but the Seminoles also allowed 24 free throw attempts. This game should soar over the projected total if it is a similar parade to the free throw line for both teams.
Pick: Over 154.5 (-105)
