Monterrey has fought Mexican soccer’s corner in the Leagues Cup. The royal club is the only Liga MX team left in the international tournament and needs just two more victories to be crowned champions on American soil.

Club president Antonio Noriega has spoke out about the organization of the Leagues Cup and in particular, his unhappiness with the scheduling, tiring long trips and the advantages that MLS clubs have enjoyed. Monterrey feel as though they have spent the past month travelling and will once again be boarding a plane, this time to face Nashville in the semi-finals – the latest in a long line of seemingly endless road trips.
